Pursuing a master’s degree in Interior Architecture at Florida International University, Jennifer Perez is a design lover and an accomplished student. In addition to graduating high school as valedictorian at only sixteen years old, she has excelled in the accelerated program at FIU. Jennifer was born in Havana, Cuba but came to Miami, FL when she was three years old. Design has been her passion since she was a child, creating renderings of spaces for family and friends from the age of nine. Once in high school, psychology and people’s actions were interesting because she discovered that human behavior can be understood and explained. With these two interests in mind, Interior Design became a perfect fit. Designing spaces that impact people’s moods, thoughts, and actions is a very powerful skill that can be used to better the lives of everyone using the spaces. Traveling has become another one of her passions. In the past five years, Jennifer has traveled to over twenty cities around the world. Some as close to home as St. Augustine; others, as far away as Berlin. Each of these different cultures and experiences have given her new perspectives on life that carry into her design career.
